Key concepts

Key concepts identified for each book reflect the subjects and keyword terms frequently used in online catalogues in school, public and university libraries as well as those used in research databases and bibliographies which relate to cultural diversity. These concepts formed the basis for determining the key concepts chosen for the Cultural Diversity database. The value of using existing terms lies in these being familiar, in common use and serving to identify related future resources. Several key concepts, as listed below, are identified for each book. The terms are selected to reflect aspects appearing in the books and are not intended to make judgments about the books’ content.
