Behind the Imagined

The Journal of the National Centre for Australian Children’s Literature Inc.

Behind the Imagined is the journal previously known as The Lu Rees Archives: Notes, Books and Authors.  The late Victor Crittenden OAM initiated the Journal in 1981.  It is published annually.

In 2017, its current editor Jane Carstens advocated for a more inclusive name change that reflected all aspects of the creative process. She selected Behind the Imagined as the new journal name.
