This Dreaming Story belongs to Henry Cook Jakamarra, a Warlpiri man from the Tanami Desert. The story illustrates an aspect of the Dreaming, where two wallabies criss-cross the country, bringing many places and plants into being. A great flood comes and one of the wallabies is swept away, leaving the other to create a replacement from a small mouse. The story features the origin of nail-tailed wallaby.

Edited by Christine Nicholls, the book has unambiguous, striking illustrations that could be a conversation starter with younger children. The text is perhaps a little dense for very young readers, but complements the illustrations.
