Counting down from 15, this is the story of a family travelling from Broome to Wyndham, more than one thousand kilometres, to visit their Nana. Along the way they encounter children playing, other travellers and an assortment of animals and plants. The double page spreads, illustrated by David Hardy, a descendent of the Barkindji people of Brewarrina in north west of NSW, are vibrant and colourful. Illustrated on a computer pad, they are cartoon-like in appearance.
Each page has a road sign inspired box with the text: 'I’m on my way to Nana’s house. What will I see?' with the number featured on that page in yellow. This will encourage audience participation when being read aloud. It also works well with the front end paper showing the route of the trip on a map. The repetitive text counts down from fifteen to one. The story is based on the author’s experiences of road trips when they took their children to visit their Nana in Wyndham.
