A young Tiwi girl is fascinated by the preparations for her Aunty’s wedding. She questions her Maningawu or
grandmother about what is being worn and by whom. The simple question and answer text along with the colourful
illustrations simply show what a Tiwi wedding could look like today. The illustrator has used Procreate and Adobe
Photoshop to create her digital artwork appearing in this book. The Tiwi patterns, designs, dance, language and
extended family show a different but no less important way to perform and celebrate a wedding. A brief
explanation and language glossary at the back of the book give the reader more information about the Tiwi people.
